Intel has been selling networking adaptors. Now they are selling fast ethernet and gigabit ethernet switches (they bought into MRVC). They buy Case, a small ethernet switch maker in the U.K. for a toe hold in Europe. They buy into Xircom, for portable computer networking products. Why don't they just buy Bay Networks? What are their plans? Are they going to build a sales and support operation? Are they aiming for the low end, do it yourself segment, or are they going up against 3com, Cisco etc.??? This looks like a big gorilla entering the competition!!!wj |
