Return to Omnipoint Nasdaq:OMPT !

I just read a report recommending Omnipoint Communications Corporation
(NASDAQ:OMPT) by DLJ as BUY. (October 29, 1996)

Outstanding shares: 57.3 Million
Market Capitalization: $1.6 Billion
Relative Return Projection: Over 15%

"The shares of Omnipoint have declined recently, partly on the basis of speculation on Federal Communication Commission (FCC) plans to grant more spectrum, just about as the company is about to launch its personal communications services (PCS) system in New York metropolitan area - the most lucrative cellular market in the country and, in terms of the financial community, the most visible. OMPT's PCS system which will open in the next few weeks, will be the first competitor to the two existing cellular carriers, with a lead of several months over other PCS operators, and in a market characterized by dropped or blocked calls and poor reception due to the capacity constraints of the existing operators and well above-average rates"...

.."We estimate OMPT's private market value at $48 per share this year and $56 for 1997".

Omnipoint has also a pioneers preference license bases on its patented IS-661 Spread-Spectrum(CDMA)/TDMA technology. Omnipoint also has cleaned-up
on the recent D,E and F PCS auctions with a very low per pop price. Most of their newly won territory is in the North-Eastern US.

So what do you all think of this company?
