Gucci <GCCI.AS> <GUC.N> posts 103 pct profit rise
AMSTERDAM, March 27 (Reuter) - Italian luxury goods maker
Gucci Group NV <GCCI.AS> said on Thursday its net income for
fiscal 1996 rose 103 percent to $168.4 million from $82.9
million in fiscal 1995.
Gucci said this was a record financial performance, adding
that all distribution channels, product categories and
geographic regions had contributed to its growth.
The company designs, makes and distributes luxury
accessories including leather goods, shoes, watches, jewellery
and perfume.
Its shares are listed on the Amsterdam and New York stock
exchanges.
