The purpose of this thread is to pick up where the Micro-Fine Gold Plays - Franklin Lake, etc. left off when the subject of the tread turned into one that focused on Western Desert Dirt gold plays more than anything else. The old thread must be read to appreciate this one. It can be found at:

As many participants in SI have seen (and profited by) over the past 12 months or so, there has been a large influx of individual investor interest in the exploritory gold (and other precious metals) companies who focus their explorations in the western desert states of AZ, CA, NV, etc. Recently there has been buying in by the institutions as well, demostrating that these companies are being taken seriously for their claims of being able to produce cash flow. Much has happened in just the last 3 months time and this could be the start of the next Western Gold Rush. These stocks have seen all time highs within the last 3 months and most have receeded to what would be considered an excelant time to establish a position or to accumulate.
Check out the charts of those companies listed below. All companies have their own threads at this point.
Some of the companies include Chip (LS Capitol), MXAM, IPMCF, GPGI, USPS, CNA, and others. Over the years they have been working on cost-effective means to create postitive cast flow on these Desert-Dirt simple and complex ores. Several companies have even used standard fire assays to prove that the metal is there in quantanties that can be extracted using standard techniques cost effectively. Major progress has been made and we are at a crossroads now for all of this work to become positive cash flow hopefully this year. Even as I write this these companies are aggressively expanding their property holdings, helping to increase value. I expect that we will see major developments in several of these "Desert Dirts" (DDs) this year that will result in tremendous share appreciation. This includes the production of metal for sale. Who knows, this may even attract some action from the majors (a buyout maybe?).
All of the companies mentioned have their own thread on SI. This thread is for generic discussions that are pertenant to all of the DDs, for instance how mining technologies chosen by one DD could be applied to others. Or the management of several companies have contacts with each other. Other discussion includes the comparison of share value, ore compositions, etc. between the DDs. This thread is also the place where newly discovered DDs are discussed, which in the past (on the old thread) has led to the creation of specific threads.
