TALX communications systems allow users to make automatic self-service transactions (such as filling prescriptions or checking invoices) in company databases by telephone and PC. The company installed more than 500 such systems for 350 customers (many are FORTUNE 500 firms) in a recent 5-year period. The system software (TALXWare) features voice recognition, text-to-speech, fax, and e-mail. The company also maintains interactive access to records in its data processing center for firms that want to outsource recordkeeping. TALX also operates the Work Number for Everyone, a service containing employee records from some 100 companies that is used by lenders to verify the employment of loan applicants. |
