| PMTC has done extremely well over the past eight or so years. Its technology lead in their primary MCAD markets was very large, they developed an extremely aggressive salesforce and become a dominant leader. Along the way many would say they left the road cluttered with bodies they hacked and enemies everywhere.
Now there is a lethal force of next generation products which are cheaper and drastically easier to use the their flagship Pro/ENGINEER product. And they are also finding out that these products ( 20% of the cost - 95%+ of the required functionality can win on their own). Now its PTC who has the old code not companies like SolidWorks and Intergraph.

These companies will eat into both Autodesk's and PTC's client base and limit their growth. PTC is more vulnerable and hence will fall the hardest, besides Autodesk has already had its fall and its rise will only be stalled because of these new competitors.
