This is a nifty new and rapidly growing brewery in Frederick, MD, some 40 miles from Washington, DC. Their craft beers and ales are flying out of at least two liquor stores in my informal survey. Their unusual offerings include wheat beer and "Hempen Ale". The Hempen Ale is made with actual hemp seeds and OK'd by the FDA so they're legal! BLUE will be profitable in the third quarter once their bottling line is up and running at full capacity. Their label and box graphics are superb, so it looks like this is a well-managed company. Suggest you try the product and then decide whether it's worth the risk, as liquor stores shelves (and floors) are becoming ever more crowded with domestic and imported beers and ales! |
