"Schick Technologies makes medical and dental digital imaging equipment. Its main product is CDR (computed dental radiography), an x-ray system that uses less radiation than conventional equipment, fits inside the mouth, incorporates an oral camera, CDRCam, and poduces the images on a computer instead of film. Schick also has a product awaiting FDA approval that measures bone density for use in the diagnosis of osteoporosis. The company is developing a digital mammography device capable of producing low-cost computer images of a wide surface area. Schick's products are based on technology developed at the California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory."
