Return to SYNTEL (SYNT) - Upcoming Year 2000 IPO

Have just started researching Syntel. Major international software services and tool provider, with over 1,800 employees worldwide.

Syntel has set the date for its IPO in early August. Will start trading on the NASDAQ under the symbol SYNT. Lead underwriter is Hambrecht and Quist out of SanFrancisco. Contact Mr. Chris Copps 1-800-337-9619 if you want to get in on this one. Minimum investment is 10,000 plus shares. Currently, the anticipated starting price will be $9 to $11/share. This will be firmed up the first week of August (per Chris Copps)

Corporate located in Troy, Michigan, with 12 branch offices (9 in US, 1 in UK, 1 in Austrailia, 1 in Mumbai, India).

Year 2000 business..."Through a fixed price price approach, comprehensive methodology, people resources, and established software toolsets, Syntel is helping corporations face the Year 200 challange head on." .... "Our methodology, built upon 16 years of successful systems integration project experience, fixes the right applications first. Called Method2000SM, we use it to plan, assess and convert sytems. In all, it covers the focus areas, ten phases and 27 subphases to comprehensively indentify, convert and test necessary changes."

Looks like this one is not intimating that its toolset will resolve the problem alone. Further, given the scope of its existing employee base and office space, Syntel is well situated to take on major additional business.

Does anybody have additional insite???
