Return to Micron vs. Dell

So right about now, you're laughing. Dell is everyone's superstar, growing at 100% a year, knocking down every barrier in site. Micron is small-time, tinier and growing slower.

Well, I am daring to think that things can change. Micron is going after the business markets like never before, making the ever-popular Transport laptop line more affordable than ever before (and it wins every reliability and performance survey over the likes of Dell and Toshiba and everyone else), and coming out with new products, like cutting edge servers and workstations. Their latest product, the Powerdigm XSU is the first workstation fully optimized for NT.

Says Microsoft's Director of Personal and Business Systems Group, Jonathan Roberts:

``We are delighted that Micron's Powerdigm XSU was designed from the ground up to be optimized for Windows NT(R) Workstation 4.0. Micron's workstation customers will benefit from the unmatched reliability, security and performance of Windows NT Workstation 4.0 along with the far-reaching breadth of leading Windows NT-based technical and personal productivity applications.''

As far as stock performance, DELL has left MUEI and everyone else in the dust recently, but I think that MUEI has great potential. Being currently valued at .8x sales and 16x earnings (compared to 3.5x and 48x for DELL), it could be quite undervalued.

I encourage Dell and Micron watchers both to comment on this thread.
