Return to ATCI: The Future of Laser Vision Correction?

I cannot believe there's not a thread on Autonomous Technologies. People are going beserk-o, and the stock just doubled to about $7 on good news (even though ATCI will have no earnings for a few years).

Sure, they just completed myopia trials, and are now collecting 2-year follow-up data for submission. Sure, they're now selling lasers abroad on a per-use basis.

But they won't get approval to sell in U.S. until 1999 or later, and it will take a while for international per-use revs to generate meaningful earnings.

This stock looks like VISX and BEAM years ago, when everyone's hopes rose and fell like waves approaching the shore, only to be dashed on the rocks of reality.

But I like their laser, and personally, I hope they're bought out by VISX or BEAM. Scanning lasers with active eyetrackers are the future or laser vision correction, IMO.

Check 'em out.
