PHOENIX, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Cetacean Industries, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: CTAE), today announces the signing of a letter of intent
for a 25-50% equity in Y2C Inc. (Y2C) of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Y2C Inc.
was formed to develop and design an automated integrated approach to the "Year
2000 Problem" that will effect governments, industry, financial institutions
and day to day life in general. With the year 2000 quickly approaching, the
date fields in most legacy systems are two digits in length and do not take
into account the turn of the century, which could have catastrophic results.
Computer applications could shut down, the date field 00 for the year 2000
could be rejected, and a time paradox could happen within the system causing
erroneous results and wiping out data.
The year 2000 problem is astronomical in proportion, with the North
American software repair cost originally estimated at over Four Hundred
Billion Dollars alone and One Trillion Dollars worldwide. Y2C has developed
and can provide a state of the art product, Chronicle 2000, that will be
successfully licensed to governments, industry and system integrators. Y2C
has also obtained the rights to key leading industry products that are being
integrated into the Chronicle 2000 product. The combination of these products
with the Y2C approach will provide a well-engineered, automated methodology in
resolving the Year 2000 Problem and products with effective tools that will be
useful well into the next millennium.
