This thread is being created as a result of discussions on the IFMX thread relating to finding other "similar" opportunities. This would include companies with good products/technology and previously demonstrated strength but whose prices have fallen significantly from previous highs. A number of companies have been suggested on the IFMX thread and are as follows: SGI, BORL, USF, TWA, SIII, ACTC, MENT, TPRO, TNCX, QDEK, NETM, WDC and TXB. I think it would be good if we set up some guidelines so as not to consider every stock in the universe. So my ideas (which are open to critique) are: 1) the stock should be currently trading at 50% less than its 52 week high. 2)It would be best if the stock had options (at least that's my preference)because then we could write covered calls while waiting for the turnaround. We should include all aspects of evaluating here, i.e. fundamental/technical analysis, product/industry analysis, etc. So hopefully from here we can share some ideas and make alot of money! Melissa |
