"Amkor Technology sells semiconductor packaging and test services to industry giants IBM, Intel, Motorola, and TI, among others. Through a supply relationship with a member of Korea's Anam Group, Amkor provides its services through three plants in the Philippines and four in Korea owned by Anam Industial. The company consists of Amkor Electronics (semiconductor packages design), C.I.L. Limited (marketing in Europe and Asia), T.L. Limited (manufacture of packaging through its Amkor/Anam Advanced Packaging subsidiary and 60%-owned Amkor/Anam Pilipinas), and AK Industries (raw material purchasing and inventory management services). Amkor is 35%-owned by the Kim family, the founders of the Anam Group."
Scheduled to IPO the week of 12/15/97.
