I have created this thread to help us keep tabs on some of the dirty tricks we know are being played by insiders and trading houses. While I have been assured that the VSE is accountable to the BC Securities Commission, I often feel that certain questionable practices are overlooked by the powers that be. I'm thinking of things such as stacking the bid, which happens occasionally, or piling on fake offers to create the impression of heavy selling pressure, or "walking" a stock from three or four dollars all the way down to 75 cents. I also question whether brokerage houses should be able to short stocks once they drop below, say, two dollars. In some instances it seems that certain notorious shorting dens have even been shorting stocks at 10 or 20 cents. This is downright despicable. We must realize that unfair practices serve only to cripple junior companies, undermine investor confidence, and ultimately damage the exchange itself. I think it's high time shareholders had a voice and this is one place we can speak out. Let's hear some of your concerns. |
