Focal, Inc. is a recent IPO. The company is developing surgical sealants and already has approval from the EU (European Union) to sell the product developed for lung surgery. Other products are in the works. A PMA (PreMarketApproval) should be filed with the FDA by the end of this year. This is a story stock at this time and is speculative. But, currently the downside risk is relatively low. As the company achieves its milestones, the value of the stock may increase. Surgical sealants will be a huge growth industry in the next millenium. Only time will tell if this company has the right mixture of management/ product to make it happen.
