Return to Advanced Option Strategies

I want to move beyond Covered Calls and Naked Puts; I'm looking for a good discussion on more advanced plays, when they're appropriate and when they're not.

I think at a minimum, you need to have read McMillan's Options as a Strategic Investment in order to participate fully in the forum I'm envisioning. ( I haven't read all of this book, I've skipped at lot of the market maker stuff and index option and futures stuff, since I don't play them. )

For myself, I'm mostly interested in Systematic Writing, Diagonal Time Spreads, Butterfly Spreads, and Boxed Short Straddles. I'm interested in hedging strategies. I'd like to get into a good discussion with folks about some of McMillan's opinions on certain strategies, and let's not forget some of the other option strategy authors also.

I've written about some of this in other forums, mostly the Covered Calls and Selling Puts forums, but at times I feel it's a distraction for the regular followers of those topics. Hence the need for this one.

I don't consider myself an expert, but I am a good student. My approach to learning has always been to get together with other good students and go searching for all the nuances. If you feel likewise, please join in.
