I bought a book a few years back titled "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" and read it pretty much cover to cover. Since having done so I have been amazed at the accuracy of some of the methods described in this book for placing trades, both long and short. I have also seen what passes for technical analysis these days and I understand the critics' view of 'modern' techniques. Most computer programs are hogwash as far as I can tell but the old-style chart analysis methods continue to work just like they did when the book was written - over 40 years ago.
I thought it might be nice to have a thread here that is a forum for chart analysis and discussion of current issues. While I still believe in fundamentals for a long term approach I think it wise to understand something of investor psychology for shorter term entry and exit decisions. |
