There are a number of companies which offer Dividend Reinvestment Plans, which permit someone to buy shares of a companys stock without paying commissions. One of the most notable in the tech arena is Intel. At least one other prominent tech name has considered offering a Reinvestment Plan to it shareholders. That company is Microsoft. Even though they do not pay dividends there was talk at one time of establishing a plan. It is the goal of this thread to present investors with a list of tech names(if they indeed exist), since this is a dynamic process and a book bought listing DRIPs last week may already be outdated.
I am currently emailing some of the companies I hold positions in to get them talking about setting up a plan. Doing this broadens out the shareholder base, which implies less volatility in the stock. And less volatility is certainly something many tech investors would like at this point.
Any tech names other than Intel???? |
