Speech and voice recognition IMHO is the next holy grail for technology. If user friendly, accurate systems can be developed, we will begin a new leg of the already incredible tech run. This thread is being established to foster communication about this sector and to uncover the companies with the most promise.
Many companies are private, a few are public.
Here's a brief list:
Public: Fonix, Lernout and Hauspie, DSP Group, Microsoft, Motorola, General Magic
