They are currently providing 700 clients (including Corel Corp. and Symantec Corp.) secure purchase and delivery of software and other digital products via the Internet. DG also has 12 patents pending for digital delivery, commerce and encryption systems.
Digital River was founded in 1994, a joint venture between Fujitsu Limited (with a 25% stake), the world's second largest computer company, and Joel Ronning, President of Tech Squared, Inc., of Minneapolis (Tech Squared has a 37% stake).
