MGC Communications provides switched local and long-distance voice and data services in Las Vegas and in suburban areas of Los Angeles and Atlanta. The company intends to expand its services into seven additional markets in California, Florida, and Illinois. Aiming its services primarily at small businesses and residential customers, MGC has interconnection agreements with Sprint in Las Vegas, BellSouth in Georgia, Ameritech in Illinois, and both GTE and Pacific Bell in California. MGC also plans to provide Internet and remote LAN access and has agreements with Nortel to buy 20 of its DMS 500 switching platforms.

Scheduled to IPO the week of 5/11/98.
