Space mining, is this the next gold rush?

SpaceDev, Inc. (OTCBB: SPDV) is an innovative public corporation which
intends to create and exploit profitable space exploration and development opportunities, beginning with an historic scientific data collection mission to another planetary body. SpaceDev management believes that space is a place, and not a government program. Being a public company provides everyone the opportunity to participate in the opening of space, through the activities of SpaceDev.SpaceDev is developing a detailed mission plan and spacecraft design, and intends to construct, test and launch an unmanned spacecraft (the Near Earth Asteroid Prospector or NEAP), fly NEAP to a targeted near earth asteroid residing between the Moon and Mars, and successfully land one or more scientific instruments on the asteroid. NEAP will be the first private spacecraft to ever leave earth orbit, and the first private spacecraft to visit and land upon another planetary body.

NEAP will also be the first spacecraft to carry instruments and experiments into deep space for hire, and
to provide insurance for its scientific, governmental and commercial customers.

As a privately financed, non-governmental venture, SpaceDev intends to claim ownership of the asteroid
in order to benefit its shareholders and humanity by setting a precedent for private property rights in
space, which may help accelerate the opening of space to all.

Once it achieves its goal of asteroid rendezvous, and the sale of valuable scientific and geological data,
SpaceDev believes it will be positioned as the premier provider of high quality and low cost space-related
consulting, design, planning and support services and products.

An important element of SpaceDev's business plan is its belief that it can drive down the cost of space
exploration and the time required for mission planning through its management skill, the establishment of
alliances with experts in the field of space exploration, creative cost-sharing arrangements, and the use
of existing rather than new technology.

SpaceDev believes that it is capable of returning up to four times the amount of scientific data per dollar
being spent today, thereby providing more science to more scientists than ever before.

SpaceDev intends to market its missions, products and services to institutions, governments, and
quasi-government agencies engaged in scientific research, and to such private industries as energy and
natural resource companies.

The market for space science is global, with current expenditures of several billion dollars per year. The
commercial portion of the market is currently small, but has the potential to far exceed the government,
scientific research market because of the enormous value of the large quantities of resources in space,
and their eventual depletion on earth.

Once it achieves the goals of its NEAP mission, SpaceDev believes that scientific planetary exploration
will increase and that significant planning of near earth exploration and development will be undertaken
by private energy, mining and natural resource companies to claim and then exploit the concentrated
resources believed to exist on most near earth asteroids.
