Return to Will Zapata ZAP the Internet.....

Zapata historically is an oil company but sold out that business and concentrated on marine life products...in other words, ground up fish to keep it simple.

Now they have announced a most unlikely diversification into the Internet. Announcing that they plan to purchase a myriad of web sites they have decided to own the sites or a majority of the interest in them rather than just depend on portaling.

There is a thread concerning Zapata but it doesn't exist under the Internet sector of SI.

To begin the discussion I wonder if others would like to check out their sites listed at zap.com and rate them for usability and appeal.

I started this process by accessing Bibliofind and ordering two books from them. The service of itself is easy and reliable but it does have one drawback. If you have a list of books you wish to purchase you can stack up shipping costs as the data base is made up of dozens of vendors. However, if cost is what you're after then even shipping costs can't offset the savings from buying used books over new. An overwhelming majority of the books are detailed as to condition. I will refer back to this post when I receive my purchase and post my conclusions as to whether I got what was described and the turnaround time.
