Let the false rumor season begin. In the last month, we've had Advanced Fibre (AFCI) and now Stratus (SRA). Many analyst reports and articles have stated that Lucent (LU) and Ascend (ASND) have a strong strategic fit and LU would like to buy ASND when their pooling-of-interests restrictions are lifted on 10/1/98. In addition, ASND seems to be positioning itself to be purchased based on its lack of acquisitions since Cascade while CSCO/LU/NT have continued to buy various start-ups.

My theory is that there will be numerous rumors about ASND in the next 2 months. Let's use this thread to keep a history and make some nice trading money.
