Return to Possible Hot Tech Plays (TXN, QWST, AMCC, etc...)

Near and long term option plays.

I wanted to through out some new ideas and see what you guys think.

TXN - I got 2001 leaps strike 50 when TI was 48 a month ago. TI looks very promising since it's out of the memory buisness. There major cash crops seem to be 1) One out of ever two digital cell phones has a TI chip. 2) They own all the ADSL DMT patents and are going to be making modems (non money here yet though). 3) There new DLP technology projects are selling like hot cakes and is getting rave reviews. [leaps look like the one to get here]

QWST - Fiber, Fiber, Fiber.... They have it and everyone wants it. Large backbone providers are leasing their fiber, now I mean the actual strands, not space on Qwest's network. They are a major east cost fiber owner. (Maybe Feb 1999's based upon the current market)

AMCC - They got the chips that every one wants for high (gigabit bandwith hubs and switches). 3Com is using their chips in the new super stack. They have major tech deals with IBM.

Any other hot ideas comments etc...
