Catapult Communications' testing systems make war on telecommunications equipment and networking problems. Catapult's products, designed for the telecommunications industry, seek out problems in equipment compatibility and verify network features and conformity. During testing they simulate protocol errors, network failures, and heavy use. The customizable systems are used during network design, integration, installation, and acceptance testing. Customers include telecommunications equipment manufacturers and network operators such as Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, Motorola, and NEC. Half of Catapult's sales come from outside the US. Founder and CEO Richard Karp owns 86% of the company.
