This url from the OTC BB site seems to be updated once a month, anywhere from the 8th to the 16th day of the month, and gives a list of the top 100 most active OTC BB stocks. From observing this list for
a few months I have noticed the following:
1. this list contains a lot of micropennies
2. What makes it to the list is that with the highest volume trading
(NOT necessarily which stocks have the most money put into them, or the most money changing hands, BUT rather the most shares traded daily
on average)
3. This list has been a great indicator for a couple of OTC BB stocks
which become "popular" on SI 1-3 months later. For example, A stock makes the most active list, and this particular symbol has NOT been talked about on SI, and then 2-3 months later suddenly penny traders and investors are posting about it. (the stock was accumulated and then price begins increasing when other investors begin buying)
3. You will also see on this list many stocks that have already been "played" by many penny investors and traders and are now on their way "out" (people lost interest for whatever reason)
The usefulness of this url?
Finding new penny stocks that have not been talked about much on SI, or not at all.
Then looking at the chart(is the stock trending upward?
is it being accumulated?) Often times, a stock on the top 100 most active list that is slowly trending upward, or has been accumulated, and is NEW to the most active list and NOT talked about on SI, (other than its own thread if it has one), often times that stock is poised to make a move UP in a noticable way in the upcoming months.I have seen this with a few dozen stocks over the past few months.
The PURPOSE of this thread is to analyze the stocks that are
new to the list each month

and post due diligence, including whether or not there is a thread for that particular symbol, price history, any volume history, float, outstanding, company information, etc. This is a thread to bring forth
new things to research. This is not a thread for hype, nor a place to bring symbols that have been hyped in the past. It is to analyze symbols NEW to this top 100 list, and why a particular symbol made it to this most active list for the previous month. |
