NEW SKY COMMUNICATIONS (NSKY) is a fully-reporting movie production company and part-owner of MoviePlace.com Web site. The cable rights to NSKY's latest movie, "Freak Talks About Sex", have been acquired by HBO and it will debut as a Cinemax Friday Night Premiere on December 17, 1999. Another Cinemax airing is scheduled for December 27. "Freak", starring Steve Zahn as Freak, was very well received by audiences at the Seattle International Film Festival in June and the Hamptons International Film Festival in late October.

NSKY president Carl Reynolds said in a PR announcing the HBO/Cinemax deal: "We are pleased that 'Freak Talks about Sex' will reach a wide audience through a limited number of showings as a Cinemax Premiere and we hope this exposure will enhance the value of home video, foreign, internet and other television rights to the film. In addition, this Cinemax Premiere does not preclude, and may enhance, the possibility of a theatrical release of the film." NSKY will receive one-third of the profits from "Freak" which received a glowing review in the trade publication, Variety (see link below).

The star of "Freak", Steve Zahn, is himself a rising star in Hollywood. He has appeared recently in "Forces of Nature", "You've Got Mail" and "Mission: Impossible 2" (December 1999 release) with such stars as Tom Cruise, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock and Anthony Hopkins. Also starring in "Freak" are Josh Hamilton (David), Heather McComb (Nicole) and Arabella Field (Cari). Hamilton has appeared in numerous movies and on TV in the recent NBC miniseries "The 60's" and "All My Children". McComb, a regular on TV's "Profiler" and "Party of Five", also appeared in "The Practice" and "Millennium". Field is a veteran of 10 movies, with "Godzilla" and "Dante's Peak" among the most recent.

In addition to other announcements on distribution agreements for "Freak", an announcement also is anticipated on New Sky's next movie, "The Godmother". Efforts are continuing to finalize financing, cast and crew and a press release will be issued when details are completed.

NSKY also owns 40% interest in the Web site, The Movie Place: movieplace.com. MoviePlace.com, itself getting rave reviews, contains video interviews with motion picture celebrities by site co-owner Mike Cidoni, whose movie reviews appear on TV and radio stations throughout the country. Also found there are reviews of current films; listings of movies, theaters and show times in the U.S.; coming attractions; a video and movie memorabilia store and many other top-quality items of interest to movie fans. Innovative improvements are in the works to maximize the value of MoviePlace.com. It was recently announced that the site has developed a weekly internet movie critics program will premiere in early 2000. While the program will premiere on the internet, the ultimate goal is to syndicate the program as a television series.

In the fall of 1998, Leonard Shapiro joined the NSKY team. For over 30 years, Shapiro has been in the mainstream of independent motion picture production and marketing. For five years, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Film Market (AFM), an association of over 100 international companies including ABC, NBC, Miramax, New Line Cinema and LIVE entertainment. His negotiating and distribution skills for the foreign and domestic markets gives NSKY a greater dimension for making money in all avenues of the entertainment industry.

New Sky Communications is a fully reporting company with very little debt and a small overhead. It has 200 million shares authorized with 193 million issued and approximately 120 million in the float. NSKY president, Carl Reynolds, can be reached at (716) 454-5490. Fax: (716) 454-5502.
