Return to The Y2K Panicker - A 'Things To Do' Checklist

I don't believe that we'll be living like savages - at least not for more than a couple of weeks, but here is a list of things to do to prepare for the much anticipated and unanticipated. Please add any other suggestions you fellow panickers may have:

1. Withdraw all money from the bank just in case everything's screwed up and you would have to transact strictly in cash (you can always redeposit the money on Monday Jan. 4th, so what do you have to lose?)
2. Go to Sears or Target and buy a shotgun as there may be looting and you'll need to protect yor family (but save the receipt because you can return it for a refund on Monday Jan. 4th if all is calm!).
3. Just thought of this one a few days ago - refill all drug prescriptions at the pharmacy just in case their computers go down (good one, eh'?).
4. It case the power goes out for a while, stock up on food that doesn't need to be cooked or refrigerated (the beef jerky co.s are gonna clean up).
5. Scare all your friends and family into not taking an end-of-year vacation due to possible dangers in air travel (because of air traffic control Y2K computer problems) then short the major airlines as bookings plummet (better safe than sorry, eh'?).
6. Persuade all your enemies and in-laws into taking an end-of-year vacation due to possible dangers in air travel (because of air traffic control Y2K computer problems).
7. Buy a late 80's or early 90's Lincoln Town Car. The spacious trunk is ideal for looting, and the great beasts are also fine battering rams for those jostling for an armageddon-hour parking space at the mall (this is rude, though... a courteous looter never steals a parking space, for crissakes).
8. You'll need as siphon (to siphon gas out of your neighbor's car, as petrol deliveries may be delayed or halted - and the Lincoln is a gas pig).
9. Lastly, you'll need 1 (one) blank VHS video to record the president's plea for national calm and all the birds-eye-view goodies CNN broadcasts.
