Return to Oil & Gas Price Economics

Needless to say these are trying times for investing in oil stocks. Oil prices have cracked below the previous long-time $12 support price and the near-term price outlook isn't too good given that OPEC could not agree to any more production cuts in last week's meeting.

Exxon is talking to Mobil about buying them out. What else is in store for this industry?

This board is set up so that we can discuss the forces that are driving pricing economics for hydrocarbons. Oil will be the primary subject but its impossible to talk oil prices without also talking natural gas prices so that is covered here too.

For some excellent charts of recent oil prices, check out oilworld.com. Elsewhere on the oilworld site is also some nat. gas charts.

In addition to discussion of the economics, discussion of any and all kinds of investment plays related to potential future oil & gas price movements is most welcome.
