par'•a•digm (n). An example that serves as pattern or model.
Here is one example:
For years distribution of music has been through the retail store and CD mail order clubs. That's changing, and I believe the future of music distribution will be electronic. Not the sale of CD's by ordering them over the Internet, but the sale of commercial titles via download. With new compression technologies, and high speed Internet connections, downloading a song only takes seconds.
Why drive to the music store or wait for a CD to be delivered to your home when you can have it in seconds? With new software now available, you can download your favourite music and burn your own CD.
Some companies taking part in the billion dollar music industry:

MP3 is widely available on the Internet, this is great distribution channel for the starting artist but, it is being abused by people trading in illegal MP3's. I believe the recording industry will survive and thrive.

There are companies out there that are not public yet, companies that haven't been created yet, ground floor opportunities are there, BUT SO ARE THE RISKS. Lets do some networking.
