From Cory on c.s.y2k:

'The current WRPs are on the web. C.s.y2k is kinda "push technology",
the web is pull. I'm tired of pushing that I'm going to let you do
the pulling for a while.

Status of the WRP's WRP 100 has been printed and mailed. The WRP
101/102 pair just came back from the printer (Sir Speedy's house of
Xerox.) and will go out print lovers any day now. I'm thinking this
afternoon if I finish my other work.

Note to MAC, the WRP 101 on the web is different from WRP 101 as pushed
into c.s.y2k. You might want to refresh your edition off the web.
Also, I'll be taking down the older WRP's and narrowing the window on
the web to fewer editions. This might give the mirror and host sites
more traffic. You host sites might want to start carrying ads from Y2K
supply houses and such.

WRP 103 is on the web and has been sent to the printers. I have the
text for WRP 104 and will print and mail the 103/104 pair before 104
goes on the web. WRP 104 covers the trail that Linda Hamilton took at
the end of Terminator I. One of the local multi-talented gear-heads
(everything from Access to S/390 EXCP) is a -gasp- tele-novella buff and
Senior Gringo lived on the economy in Mexico and Mexico DF. He offers
some insights into conditions there, just across the wire.... ..and no,
he didn't see Cuban tanks poised to invade the instant the lights go
out.

If all goes well, WRP 105 will be a killer edition including more
Year2000@Infomagic.com and an alternative view from a "name"
in Y2K.

My plan, and you know how disorganized and confused I am, geezing,
nattering, driving around DeeCee wearing a baseball cap, flying low,
going from 7-11 to Highs, is to release WRP 105 as a print version ONLY
for 1 week to all member/subscribers along with their free book on
gardening and vegetable storage as done pre-1920 (no refridgeration or
ice boxes.) After the members have had their copy for a week, I'll
inflict the thing on the rest of you.

Maybe I'll do this every few months.

I'm looking for some innovative and unique insights to Y2K for future
WRPs. Any authors out there? I'd really like to see a -bks- piece
explaining why this will not be a disaster. How a company like a bank,
insurance company, or a brokerage house, something that is *only* IT
can take a several month long IT outage and survive.

As for the Garage computer, you might be referring to my S/370
work-alike that runs MVS/370, VTAM, TSO, JES2. It's a mid-tower case
and benchmarks in the range of an S/370 168-3. I'm also talking to a
couple fellows who collect mainframes and own several.
