Telular Canada Inc Changes Name To GDI Global Data Inc.

TORONTO, Dec. 16 /CNW/ - Telular Canada Inc. (TSE: TC) is pleased to
announce that the decision to change its name to ''GDI Global Data Inc.'' was
ratified at its Annual General Meeting on December 8, 1998. The Company also
announced that its stock symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange will be changed
to ''GI'' to reflect the new name and image of the Company.
The Company's decision to change its name follows a reorganization and
restructuring of the Company's operating divisions earlier in 1998. ''The
Company wanted to ensure it progressed forward with the most appropriate image
reflecting its core business and the recent introduction of two new wireless
data products,'' said Harry Klein, President & CEO. The new name takes effect
immediately and GDI Global Data Inc. begins trading on the Toronto Stock
Exchange under the symbol ''GI'' today, December 16, 1998.
