When And Why AMZN, YHOO, AOL, EBAY and CMGI will Fall.
The Prizes: $3,500 for describing why and an additional $1,500 if that same poster correctly predicts when the drop will occur. ($5,000 for both if predicted by the same entrant)
The contest: Using the following 5 stocks as an index; AMZN, YHOO, AOL, EBAY and CMGI, predict (1) when and (2) why they will fall 40% in the space of 5 consecutive trading days. The winner will be chosen based upon their posted (to this thread only) description of the correct reason(s) why the stocks moved down 40% in 5 trading days and upon the prediction of the day the start of the 40% down move occurs,. Each member gets 3 tries and numbers each try as such at the beginning of their post. They can post more than three times on the new thread, but ONLY the numbered threads get counted.
Judges for the contest are Tastes Like Chicken, Roger Babb, and Forest Gump. Responsibility for payment to the winner shall rest solely with Auric Goldfinger, not the judges or SI. In the event that one or more of the judges is unable to adjudicate, Mr. Goldfinger shall cast the deciding vote in the event of a tie. (Rules open to discussion through December 31, 1998, judges to make all final and binding decisions. See Post #1 for further details)
