This thread is to be used as a forum to interpret phrases often used on Silicon Investor (as well as other stock market forums). Phrases like: "I am not a short, but..." (meaning -- "I am short this piece of trash") and "I will be placing a market order to buy at the open!" (meaning -- I am very long, somewhat scared, and would love to see a short squeeze tomorrow). Obvious attempts to sway the market. Terribly futile, perhaps. Often simply blatent lies. We've all seen them. Many of us have used them. Now, what are they? |
