Return to DWLima: Investing for Personal Wealth

Vision: To substantially increase personal wealth
Mission: To become savvy investors/traders through the sharing of our knowledge, experiences, analytical and forecasting skills
Objective: To sustain a return that well exceeds the S&P500- an objective unattainable by 80% of fund managers
Goal: To select at least 4 stocks that increase or decrease over 200% within a 3-month period during the 1999 calendar year

Rules of the Thread

1) Only substantiated opinions shall be written. For example, "I believe the markets will go up" is not acceptable. However, "Based on last night's rebound of the Asian markets and our trend to follow their rallies, I think the market will go up" is reasonable and substantiated.

2) When facts are written- sound, value-added conclusions shall be drawn. For example, copying and pasting press releases is non-value added. Only a reference to the release is necessary. Another example of a fact without drawing a value-added conclusion is "this stock has a low float". However, " With a float of 1M shares and current average trading volume of 200k, the float is being turned once each week. This coupled with a rising stock price indicates to me significant accumulation (or short covering)" is a conclusion based on the facts that adds significant more value than just re-typing statistics found.

3) All persons who do not abide by the simple rules above, including but not limited to bashers, hypsters, and promoters shall not be engaged for any reason. In other words, no one shall respond to these non-value added comments either publicly nor privately.

4) All posters shall be ethical and honest at all times. This includes reporting any potential conflicts of interests, such as persons having an affiliation, direct or indirect, with any companies they are or are not supporting. In addition, it is unethical to speak favorably regarding a stock that one is continually reducing a position in as this misleads people affiliated with this thread. Common Sense and a Code of Honor are key here. Don't treat people in a way that you yourself would not want to be treated.

With the ground rules established, I would now like to now share with everyone how I found SKYM just days prior to its amazing price appreciation. My approach can be found in message #1 of this thread.

In addition, all stock picks that we feel are worthy of holding (long or short) will be posted below with a target price and date and will be updated on an on-going basis.
