It doesn't matter what will REALLY happen as to potential malfunctions, fear will grow, and the market WILL panic just before the turn of the century, and (if there are major problems) in the early months of the Year 2000.
There are ways to make millions from this panic--short selling, buying puts, LEAP puts, getting into cash and diving into the depressed market, buying stocks that will benefit from a panic, and many others I can't imagine.
