I would welcome discussions of your current ISP. I am once again casting my virtual communication fate into the wide open sea of "competitively priced" ISP's. I recently dropped Bellsouth.net due to their apparent and ongoing indifference to me and my needs as a consumer. I am using Web America for now, and my experience with them has been a real bummer 3 weeks into the "relationship".
Highlights from Web America, which promises "totally digital" 56K connections.
1) Local access number stopped working altogether
2) Given 3 toll-free #'s to call, 2 of which are perpetually busy, offer 19K to 21K connects, drops after 5 minutes on average. The 3rd number has yet to produce a connection....just rings and rings.
3) Requested additional e-mail account....they *replaced* mine and assigned the new one incorrectly.(got the spelling wrong despite clearly enunciating 3 TIMES and told it was "taken care of, no problem")
I used Mindspring for 2 years, and watched as their level of "premium" service dropped squarely into the category of mediocre....I won't be going back to them ever!
So, who are you happy with, or totally dissatisfied with, and for what reasons?
