I would like to start a thread discussing the problems with online trading. Specifically I think it would be interesting to track the performance of the big names like Etrade and Ameritrade vs. some of the lesser known players like webstreetsecurities, DLJ, and others.
The goal? To find the most effecient online broker out there! Is it possible that there exists an online broker that will fill trades accurately, that will send confirmations of trades within minutes instead of hours, and most importantly that has a support staff that believes in customer service?
I realize this is a daunting task, but it is something that must be done. I am tired of losing money on several bad trades a month because my online broker decided to invest in more marketing majors instead of engineers to support their computer systems.
Finally, after a month of so I will try and get someone in the press (Chicago Tribune at least) to take a look at this board and write an article pulling quotes from it.
