Lumenon Innovative Lightwave Technology Inc. - New Chips on Silicon DORVAL, QUEBEC (Jan. 25) BUSINESS WIRE -Jan. 25, 1999--Lumenon Innovative Lightwave Technology Inc. (OTC BB:LUMM) is pleased to announce that it has built compact 8-channel dense wavelength division multiplexer chips on silicon. The DWDM achievement is a breakthrough in hybrid glass micro-optical integrated circuits for high bandwidth fiber optics communications. Lumenon's DWDM chips (less than 5cmX5cm in size) are created using its unique low temperature PHASIC sol-gel hybrid glass-on-silicon process. Mark Andrews, vice president and CTO of Lumenon, noted, "After the completion of our state-of-the-art clean room facilities, we will begin commercial production of these chips." He added that limited production runs are expected to start in the Fall of 1999. Lumenon has also designed 4, 16, 32 and 64-channel DWDM chips that will be produced by its PHASIC platform technology.
