Technologies' electronic data interchange (EDI)
software enables companies to move the money
cow electronically. Its PayBase software helps users
make, receive, and manage payments (payroll,
commissions, bills) and notifies payees via e-mail
or fax. The Windows NT-based suite works with a
company's existing software and has the optional
LaserCheck printing system and a tax payment
module. The Federal Reserve Bank offers members
Bottomline-developed software (FEDI) for receiving
payments electronically. Customers include Charles
Schwab, Dow Jones, and Harvard University.
Co-founders Daniel McGurl (CEO) and James
Loomis (a director) each own about 25% of the
company.
