What is pumping and dumping ? Where do we draw the line with respect to the securtities laws ? Is it a crime ? Let's face it, most of the chat rooms and posts are classic pump and dumps. It's a gray area and I for one would like to have a clarification of what actions constitute illegal pump and dumping. When certain people in a chat room buy a stock at 9:01 and announce in the room that they bought the stock and sell the stock at 9:10 as everybody in the chat room is buying the stock violate any of the security laws ? Is it pumping and dumping or musical chairs ? I am starting this thread in an effort to discuss the S.E.C. regulations regarding these issues as well as the criminal laws associated with them. |
