We've been seeing and hearing about SEC probes and investigations lately into the internet. The majority of the investigations seem to be about fraud, promotion, disclaimer, etc.
Most of the investigational work I'm guessing is elsewhere than SI on the net. Recently, this has come to SI, in some way. As SI members, I think we should be concerned as to how any current investigations, not only on SI, but the Internet as whole, will affect message boards in general and even web sites.
Perhaps regulations will be established and if so, they may or may not be to our liking. So, why not be proactive somewhat and let us establish/discuss some guidelines of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable as regards posts from an SEC viewpoint and companies' viewpoint.
Some areas are clear cut, in one direction or another, but there are some grey areas.
Can we label the heading/start of any post with a keyword about the post eg. Disclosure: nmcxmcxlkxc or General or Misc If we can do this, then it should be easier to find all ppl's thgts more easily on a particular subject matter. Maybe even copy and paste all the info on a particular topic in a running/working document.
Thanks for your participation. |
