This thread's primary purposes are to help us to get to E*Trade in time to place a bid for its IPO's and to provide a forum for the exchange of pertinent information about IPO's and the IPO process.
With E*Trade's current two-hour window, SI members may merely leave their computers open to SI and check the thread at 4 pm, 5:45, 7:30 and 9:15 to be sure of being able to place a bid on any of that evening's offerings. E*T, on the other hand, will terminate your connection if you stay dormant.
Two simple "Rules of the Road":
1. Posts should be on topic, as set forth above.
2. Many members do not wish to read the posts, but just want a quick way to be alerted. We do this by a post with a capital-lettered header, such as "IPO OPEN NOW", or "GO NOW, XYZ IPO IS OPEN". False or joke postings of an opening are of course off limits.
