Return to CAOL (Cathay Online) - was KYOM

NAME CHANGE AS OF 4/15/99: CATHAY ONLINE, Inc. (formerly Kyocera): Undiscovered Chinese ISP and Lottery. New symbol soon to be COLC, I believe. This more accurately reflects their interesting new Internet Lottery in conjunction with their well established 18 months ISP service in China.
**********

THE BASICS:
Shares O/S: 8.5 Million
Float: 500K
Remaining 8.0M held tightly

Company started trading about 3 months ago; drifted down on little significant news, but important news is expected soon on WEB partnership for lottery; as well as intentions to file their 10-SB with the SEC shortly.

Their CEO is an ex-International fund manager with exceptional Asian contacts. I just spoke with their IR folks at Quantus Marketing... the insiders involved have a history of taking long term positions (see below for contact names to do your own DD)

PROFITABILITY:
According to Orville at World Vision Financial the company is apparently PROFITABLE as an ISP in China and has been operating there for about 18 months (financials coming soon will verify this).

But wait...there's more another side to this....the first Chinese Internet Lottery, which the Chinese government highly approves of (read below)

Stock High: $2.00
Stock Low: 50 cents
Currently about 75 cents

FROM A 2 PAGE FAX I RECEIVED FROM NEW PR FIRM YESTERDAY:
This company has entered the Internet field as an ISP and E-Business Company in Asia, with a strong foothold in China. Because of alliances, it is currently concentrating on Sichuan Province with it's 100 Million people. Then onto Beijing Shanghai, and Guwangzhou.

China is being targeted first because the internet growth is expected to grow to between 5-9 Billion by next year.

INTERESTING FACT #1: Currently there are only 4 ISP's in this area of 100 Million people, and word from Orville at World Vision Financial is the Government has halted the issuance of more ISP's for now.

INTERESTING FACT #2: KYOM (with symbol soon to be changed to COLC), was granted the very first foreign private sector Internet license in Sichuan Province.

Here's the really interesting part, however....

The INTERNET LOTTERY SYSTEM:
The Chinese Government has sanctioned lotteries to help support national sports programs and social programs. While in it's infancy, this is easily the fastest growing gaming segment in China, with 6 month lottery sales exceeding USD 1.33 Billon.

MOST INTERESTING FACT #3: KYOM is currently in negotiations to enter this market in China via thousands of Kiosks located around the major provincial city of 8 million. Some Kiosks are apparently already in place in major shopping and banking areas. Bets are quickly placed online via these kiosks for those who do not have access to a computer.

Much more news of Cathay's lottery venture in China and other parts of Asia is do soon.

Please as always do your own DD, as this is an exciting breakthrough opportunity perhaps, but also speculative.
