Aviva Kempner has created a marvelous movie about the life of Hank Greenberg, the Hall of Fame slugger from the Detroit Tigers. The film documents his struggle with anti-semitism and how he overcame it to come close to breaking Babe Ruth's home run record, falling 2 short(58) and a couple short of breaking Lou Gehrig's RBI record. Watching the film at the USA Film Festival in Dallas this week made it clear that Greenberg has been neglected in getting the fame that Williams and Dimaggio had probably because he didn't play on the eastern seabord. Ms Kempner is looking for financial help to help with distribution. You can reach her at: THE CIESLA FOUNDATION, INC. 3721 Jenifer Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20015. (202)244-1347 and Fax--(202) 686-5445. Ms Kempner says she will have a web site up in the near future. I have no financial interest in this project. I want it to succeed because of the beauty and worthiness of the project.
