Mr. Geoffrey Briant reports
The company is developing a specialty photo portal for both conventional film and digital photographers featuring a comprehensive photography information resource centre, an on-line photofinishing service to digitize and store pictures, and an on-line camera store where reprints, enlargements and photo merchandise can be ordered and where camera equipment, accessories and supplies will be available on-line.
The PhotoChannel features include What's New?, My PhotoChannel, the PhotoChannel expert resource centre, the PhotoChannel store, the PhotoChannel community, the PhotoChannel digital darkroom and search.
New products and service announcements, special offers, upcoming events and industry rumours are featured in What's New?
At My PhotoChannel, users can personalize the PhotoChannel site and get information specific to their photography interests and level of expertise. With My PhotoChannel, users can also create and store personal photo home pages and personalize their pictures for public or private viewing on-line as individual pictures, photo albums and multimedia slide shows.
The PhotoChannel expert resource centre features expert photography reference information for amateur and professional photographers, expert guest appearances, links to other on-line photography destinations, and helpful photography tips, hints and checklists.
At the PhotoChannel store reprints, enlargements and photo merchandise can be ordered on-line. Photography equipment, accessories and supplies will ultimately be available at the store.
The community features of PhotoChannel enable peers to interact with each other in chat rooms and join topical discussion forums attended by experts, access photography equipment reviews prepared by experts and peers, and join special interest communities to share and discuss individual pictures, photo albums and multimedia shows.
In the PhotoChannel digital darkroom, users are able to use on-line applications, or weblications, to edit and enhance pictures on-line, create and publish photo albums on-line, create and broadcast multimedia slide shows on-line, or E-mail pictures, photo albums or slide shows.
The search functions available at PhotoChannel enable users to browse PhotoChannel, use the PhotoChannel search engine to research a topic, or search for photos stored at PhotoChannel by category, keyword or description.

Also, you can see the website at photochannel.com. It has a great intro. to it -- you ought to go there even if just to see the show.

They have not even gotten the thing going yet but the stock has almost doubled in the last few weeks due to them finally getting financing and them making a deal with a premier web designer. Even at C$1.15, and including the added shares from the financing just announced, they have market cap. of just about US$9 million. That's right --- "million", not "billion"!

I got into this stock by accident (its a long story) and since I know nothing about internet stocks I figured I'd get this started here to see what any of you internuts think about this puppy.

Obviously, if the concept works this company's gonna be worth a helluva lot more than US$9 mm.
