Ever dreamed of that ideal stock ? You know, the one with the perfect profile...no long term debt, low PE (much lower than the 5 year earnings growth), huge ROA/E, textbook bullish technical chart etc, etc. Doing a Lynch-style search through the profiles of many dozens of stocks, I think I found the one he said I might find. What is it ? Symbol ACLNF, this is a sea transporter of used cars from Belgium to various countries in North and West Africa and the Middle-East. ACLN Ltd has been in business since 1994 and traded on NASDAQ since 1998. Stepping through the fundamentals... (Note: 'industry' refers to the water transportation industry within the transportation sector)
PE ratio 6.3 Annualized 5year eps growth 29% (the industry high !) Price/book 2.4 Price/sales 1.3 Current ratio 17.1 !! (not a misprint - this is the industry high ) Long-term debt is zero Total cash/share $7.02 (from latest earnings release) Profit margin 21% (the industry high) Return on Equity 44% (the industry high) Return on Assets 41.7% (the industry high) (Data Sources: Provestor, Yahoo Profiles and Company Press Releases).
I've been in touch with Investor Relations at ACLN, (recently set-up in Los Angeles to give US location and English-speaking contact) and like what I hear. In later posts, I'll present more information on valuations, future prospects/expansion and more on why I like the story here and why I think there is significant upside.
Comments ? Let me know what you think, for or against (Even if it's just 'Wake-up, Frank, you ARE dreaming' !!).
