Abraham Lincoln once said, "I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday."
We learn from many things: Our mistakes; the mistakes of others; experiences of those who have walked a similar path; even a casual observation can sometimes yield precious insight.
A man named Tupper--of whom I know very little--once wrote:
"To be accurate, write; to remember, write; to know thine own mind, write. And a written prayer is a prayer of faith, special, sure and to be answered."
And so I start this thread. I know I will not be able to write something every night. Reflection is a luxury that those on the hamster wheel enjoy far too seldom. But a little every now and then can go a long way. |
